The China Business Law Awards (Regional Awards) are now accepting nominations, inviting input from in‑house counsel, corporate executives and legal professionals with direct experience of Chinese regional law firms.
How nominations are collected
Nominees must be selected based on the quality of services delivered during the past twelve months, not on firm size or how long they have existed. The deadline for submissions is 31 July, a Friday, after which the editorial team will begin its assessment.
Anyone familiar with China‑related legal services can submit a nomination, whether the firm is a local boutique or a regional office of a national practice. Lawyers are explicitly asked not to nominate their own firms; such entries will be dismissed.

Nomination forms require respondents to indicate the region and category they know best, allowing the awards panel to gather detailed, ground‑level insight across the country’s varied legal markets.
Evaluation criteria and process
The China Business Law Journal will evaluate firms using an expanded set of criteria. In addition to overall firm performance, the assessment now includes practice‑area and industry‑specific metrics, offering a more granular view of each firm’s competitive positioning.
Beyond the nominations, the journal’s research staff will conduct reference checks with law‑firm clients and review submissions provided by the firms themselves. The process is designed to be fair and objective, with no participation fees or obligations attached to the judgment.
All data will be compiled for publication in the September 2026 issue, where the winners will be announced.

The awards are a collective effort to define excellence across China’s regional legal markets. This year, our assessment criteria have been expanded to include practice-area and industry-specific performance alongside overall firm evaluation, providing a more granular view of each firm’s regional competitive positioning.
Please base your nominations on the quality of services delivered over the past 12 months, rather than on perennial factors such as firm size or longevity.
For additional details or to submit a nomination, interested parties can email the journal at [email protected]. The organizers thank participants for their contributions to the corporate, in-house counsel and legal communities. We look forward to receiving your nominations.
