
SF Election Brings Bevy of Bad Propositions

Midterm November elections are around the corner, and in San Francisco, that means a series of propositions that mostly range from the ill conceived to the ridiculous.
My approach to San Francisco elections in recent years has been to simply vote no on everything -- that is, with the exception of those tricky initiatives that require one to vote yes and then vote no on an opposing proposition to prevent anything from taking place. Of utmost importance is maintaining the status quo, however flawed. Otherwise, local lawmakers are hell bent on adding new rules, regulations, taxes, fines, bonds and symbolic statements to residents' lives, not to mention giving themselves raises at every turn.
